    My Life
    By Carol Mackey
    My name is Twinkle Toes
I am a chocolate brown cat.
My brother’s name is Fancy Pants.
We’ve lived here since we were kittens.
    There’s an upstairs and downstairs.
Lots of blankets and cushions, dark places to hide,
    sunny windowsills.
Food choices, clean water, a big litter box.
    A person at the door,
to let us in and out.
    We are slower now,
    we stay in more,
    Life is Good!

When I go outside my door,
    Like to sniff around, explore.
Dig down deep inside the earth,
Lie inside my sweet, cool berth.
I am Ginger, my color apricot,
English Mastiff. I am curious a lot.

    A Fun-filled Day
    By Rebeca Valladares
I hang around a few left-handed folks and they are usually quite feisty, stubborn, and intelligent. So let’s embrace their uniqueness and give them a nice thumbs up on this special day. It’s also national kool-aid day. That is not good for you, but it does taste delicious. Grape and fruit punch please.

    Don’t Cry Over Spilled Kool-Aid
    By Abbie Johnson Taylor

“Mom, Samantha spilled Kool-Aid on the counter,” Nathan said, as I walked into the kitchen on Friday, the 13th.
“I did not! Nathan wanted to see if he could pour Kool-Aid with his right hand, even though he’s left-handed.”
“Nathan, you know what you need to do.”
I pointed to a nearby roll of paper towels.
“Okay, Mom.” Nathan hung his head and looked like he might cry.

    Country Road

    By Ann Chiappetta

I would ride the rutted tracks and roads with country vet, Dr. Herriot and his beagle, Sam. Farm odors would assail my nose. We would hum to a classical radio station, the rise and fall of the heathered hills fading into the mist.

    Summer

    By Rebeca Valladare

Standing outside in the nice warm sun
Under a shady tree we sit telling stories and that’s also fun
Marvelous trips to the park to play
Making scrumptious meals to give us energy and brighten our day
Endless learning for everyone is very nice
Rewarded by trips to 711 with large drinks full of ice

    The Wonder of Summer
    By Valerie Ries-Lerman 7/15/21.

    It comes on slowly.
The easy breezes of Spring give was to warm days you can count on.
Now, counting on something can have divergent meanings, can’t it?
One can anticipate with joy or with 100 degree dread.
My air conditioner is now my new higher power.
Let’s hope the electricity holds out!
