Our 52 Word Writing Contest was held in Fall 2021
Calling all authors, new and experienced, to enter a fun writing contest hosted and sponsored by Writing Works Wonders.

EXACTLY 52 Words Contest 
Deadline: WAS. September 30, 2021,
1st Prize is $25
- No more, or less than 52 words. (Includes your title!)
- Contest Theme: New Beginnings.
- Choose your genre! Maximum 5 entries per person.
- Authors/entrants must be at least 18 years old.
- Authors/entrants must be residents of the USA due to legal restrictions.
- Before you submit, read this entire page.
Description of the contest theme, New Beginnings
Entering Fall 2021, what does New Beginnings mean to you? Maybe it is about fewer lock down restrictions and more freedom? Or, you or loved ones return to learning, school, or workplaces? Or perhaps it means, new opportunities, relationships, technology, or locations? Your interpretation fits the bill! Your mission is to craft a compelling 52 word entry which captures the judges’ minds, hearts, or imaginations!

Evaluation Criteria of Submissions
Submitted entries will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Did the work follow all of the contest requirements? (Exactly 52 words, original work, address the theme, meet  the deadline.)
- How well did the work utilize the author’s chosen genre?
- How effective and accurate was the use of the English language (grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.)
- How well did the work capture the judges’ minds, hearts, or imagination?
- What was the strongest point of merit of the work?
Author’s Agreement
When you submit your work you will need to agree to the following statement.
- I certify that the material I am submitting to Writing Works Wonders, is the original work of the author.
- I acknowledge that I am the author and sole owner of the copyright.
- I am 18 years old or older.
- I give permission for my submission to be read on the podcast with my name as author.
