Thanks for Treasures
For writing, a form of expression,
Which removes depression.
Memories keep loved ones near,
Who have gone past without fear.
For the family I have had,
Even in rough times I am glad.
Finding support among friends,
The beauty of this has no end.
Is it hard to give thanks?
Count your treasures without angst.
Note: Inspired by Memories by Trish Hubschman response to Falling Back.

“How long does it take to cook a turkey, Mommy?”
I thought about it. “About 7 hours.”
“But I’m hungry,” she whined.
It was 6 in the morning. “We’ll be having breakfast when Daddy comes downstairs.”.
She raced from the room. I heard her squeal.
My husband said, “There’s my little turkey.”

It’s time to give thanks. Whether you express gratitude to an eternal God or another higher power, being grateful is nice. I’m thankful for life, family and friends. I’m grateful for technology and the ability to use it. I also appreciate my musical talent and opportunities to share it. On Thanksgiving Day, I’ll be thankful for turkey with all the trimmings.
