I had practiced day and night. Headset in place, volume unmuted, I was ready to read my anecdote live. I opened my mouth. Nothing came out. Ignoring the tickle in my throat, I tried again. No sound.
Later, the mirror revealed puffy eyes, swollen neck glands. Laryngitis?
