    Explore memoir writing with Writing Works Wonders! First, we conduct a brief interview with Jane Toleno regarding her memoir, “BlindSight: Come and See” and Cheryl regarding her children’s book series that include memoir and her adult memoir entitled “Time Capsule.”

    The next section of the episode includes an engaging engage interactive discussion about what is involved in writing a memoir.

    • What is usually meant by memoir? And what point of view is used in memoir?
    • How is memoir different from biography and autobiography?
    • How may you begin your memoir?
    • Ways to organize your memoir.
    • Why and how to identify your audience.

    About Jane Toleno
    In 1947, Jane Toleno and her twin sister were placed in incubation immediately after birth. Too much oxygen was allowed to filter into their incubators and both twins lost their eyesight. Her book, “BlindSight: Come and See,” poignantly describes living with blindness in an often short-sighted world. Toleno expounds on the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional and social challenges of living blind.
    Jane has become a regular and valued participant of the Writing Works Wonders Zoom call.

    About Cheryl McNeil Fisher
    Not only an author, for over 25 years Cheryl has been a national motivational speaker and workshop leader. She inspires audiences and readers to discover the strength to face setbacks, and reach their dreams.
    Both in her career and volunteer work, Cheryl advocates for children and adults with a full spectrum of differently special traits.

    Her publications range from fiction to nonfiction. Her creative children’s books nurture imagination, goodness, kindness, and thankfulness, while introducing the lifestyles of differently abled people. Audiences benefit from Cheryl’s counseling background through her positive, supportive perspective. Cheryl lives in the Hudson Valley area of NY.

First published in 1991, she is a New York Times/USA Today, bestselling author with 132 plus books published in seven different genres, including Romantic Suspense, Mystery, Young Adult, Western, Fiction, Women’s Fiction and Non-Fiction.
    With two great-grandmothers of Native American descent on her father’s side of the family, one belonging to the Cherokee tribe, and the other a member of the Cree Tribe, she has followed the path of a storyteller, and considers it her gift from Spirit.
