Escape
As I walked into the dark garage, I heard a door slam and feet running down the pavement. Cautiously I peeked outside. Hearing a clattering, I grabbed a flashlight and dashed forward. Someone groaned. More clanging and the oder of garbage permeated the air.
I exclaimed, “What in the world!”
From the ground came a disgruntled voice.
“Hi, Dad.”

I noticed some animal or person tried to unpack our latest cat food order from Chewy. The bits of box and dry food bags made a trail from the shelves under the door.
“Who’s out there?” I called as I opened the door.
I was greeted by a large white bear that comes from the woods to visit us. He had scratches on his back indicating he tried to use our large pet door to enter and exit the garage.

As I walked into the dark garage, I heard a door slam and feet running down the pavement. When the footsteps faded into the distance, I held my breath and flipped the light switch. My blood ran cold as I read the sign painted on the garage wall, “You have been warned.”
