Sometimes I carry-on during correspondence.
But be assured, I hear your comments.

Oh, you think it’s a bunch of nonsense?
Ha, I think it is masterful brain-sense.

You hesitate.
You wonder.
I see your Glance.
C’mon. Let’s break some rules,
with a silly word-dance.

“Bravo!” they said after years of practice honed my craft.

“Will you write another?” they asked after harsh reality burned me out.

“May we read your books?” my children asked the day I discovered success.

I’m trying to do it,
But it’s not working.
Will I be able to do it?
I don’t know,
But I think I should keep trying.
Some things I can’t do.
I have my limitations.
This is driving me crazy.
It’s just plain nonsense.

My parents, both college English professors, believed that making students write papers of a certain length was nonsense. In a way, they’re right. Then again, authors must deal with word limits when submitting work for publication. Go figure!

What could be worse
Than nonsense verse?
There is no recompense
For verse that makes no sense.

It’s one thing to rhyme,
Another to pine.
So pick up your dreams
And let go your schemes.

There is work to penning words.
This concept is not absurd.
