Slogans and I were not immediately BFF’s, but now I live by them.
A favorite is, “Don’t Quit Before the Miracle Happens,” and my dad would tell newcomers and fellow AA’s, “Just Don’t Quit!”

Frustrated? Stomp your feet! Really. Do it.
Another favorite is “Move a muscle, change a thought.” Physical activity helps us refocus and laugh!

Your isolated island now has a bridge.
Join us. Together we encourage and inspire.

The power of the words will flow so easily this year. “Full-steam ahead, girl, ” she said. No time like the present. We’re a long time dead and all that.
Pen to paper, keyboard at the ready. Don’t wait for the starting gun. Let’s go!
Without a second thought the characters danced before as the words flowed. “Hey, wait for me I can’t keep up,” too many ideas coming now.

Your dreams are big and your goals are smart, but there is one thing you may have forgotten when life got in the way of your plans: kindness. It’s something you, my big-hearted friend, offer freely to others, but how easily do you gift it to yourself? Creativity requires keeping your head in the clouds, your feet on the ground, and, most of all, your heart shining inward with love.

Best,

Christine

In the past, I tried setting goals but couldn’t always meet them for one reason or another. Now, I have a general idea of what I want to accomplish, and that’s as far as it goes. This year, I’m hoping to publish a collection of short stories. If goal-setting isn’t working, forget about it and see where life takes you.

You’ve got dreams, girl.
They’re real, not fantasy.
Make them work for you.
Turn them into goals.
You can do it.
You’ve got brains, talent,
Resources and drive.
You’ve got the making of success there.
Now, get your butt in gear
And reach for the stars.
Don’t let anything stop you,.
Yourself or anyone else.

You can totally do this.” I nodded and pick up my mocha latte in salute.

Shannon shook her head and sighed. “I don’t know, Becky. I mean, I want to finish my novel, but it just isn’t coming together for me.”

After sipping my delicious cold brew, I set the glass down and replied. “You will. Just open a chapter, reread, concentrate and continue. I know you can totally do this!”
