In dismay, I stared out my back door at twenty-foot piles of snow that had accumulated in previous days. The stuff was still falling. My shovel’s handle peeked out from one of the drifts. Even if I could get to it, I couldn’t clear all the snow from my walks and driveway or get my car out of the garage. Sighing, I closed the door, resigned to yet another snow day.

You young whippersnappers think you know everything. You think you can control time by forcing wider shins into the loop. Well, it doesn’t work that way. That is impossible.

The dog was walking across the thin ice.
He didn’t think nor look around twice.
If the ice broke,

I loved winter growing up in NH because I love snow sliding, making snowballs and even shoveling. I loved hearing it crunch under my feet. I remember one year when I was six, we had so much snow that it was piled over twice as high as I was on both sides of our walkway.
