Katie glanced right and left while exiting the driveway. “Grandma look in front of you Mr. Anderson is pulling out of his drive.” Jody screamed and banged his head on the roof of the car. Her sudden stop caused Collywobbles. His knuckles turned white when he left deep indentations in the cup holders on either side of the passenger seat.
“I hope we make it back home to enjoy the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.” Jody muttered under his breath.
“What did you say honey?” Grandma asked as she cut three cars off while making a right on Casper Lane.
“I just was wishing I ate some cookies before we left.”

I remember one holiday season I ate so many snickerdoodle cookies, I got collywobbles the day after Christmas. My stomach was at war all day. I never knew if I’d win the race to the bathroom. Just give me the ribbon candy and forget the rest.

Christmas is my favorite holiday.
When I was younger, mom and I made cookies for Santa.
A lot of them burned.
As a grownup, I make cookies with my kids for Santa.
A lot of them burn.
Santa gets those.
The good ones we devour,
Hot out of the oven,
And boy, do we get stomach aches.

This could be debated forever! The kids will never say cookies. First come the holidays. then all the wonderful smells and food. Then the need for something sweet. One is never enough for adults, let alone kids. Only collywobbles can stop us!
