That’s when we saw the raccoon and right before Joe-Jack hollered lunch and tried to shoot it through his own windshield. I’ll tell you. We ate plenty of glass but not too much coon.

And I learned something else. When raccoons are trapped in a tent with shrieking seven year-old twins, everyone freaks out, and the levels of noise and hysteria are something beyond cataclysmic.

04/22/2022

Rachel raccoon urged her siblings onward. “Come on, it’s almost dark, let’s raid the campground garbage.”

Youngest brother Ralph remarked, “i…i…If we g…g…get caught, that c…c…c…could be a real p…p…pickle.”

Looking around, sharp eyed Randy, the oldest brother egged them forward. “Go ahead, I’ll be lookout. Everything’s quiet.”

Sirens suddenly sounded.

They hurriedly scampered hysterically away.

I’m in a terrible pickle. That raccoon is back in my attic and this time he brought a sibling. I’ve tried everything I can think of to keep him out and now I’m at my wit’s end. Pardon me while I indulge in a fit of hysteria.
