“Thanks,” I said to the hunky guy holding the elevator door.”

“My pleasure darlin’.”

Oh I could swoon, I smiled as I counted the room numbers. Key card, click, push door and, deep sniff of cleanliness. Love these hotels that change duvet covers at every check-out.

I tossed my suitcase onto the second bed, anticipating a shower. Unzipping with a flourish, I toss back the top and gasp. This… is not my suitcase.

When I got home, I found my mistake. it wasn’t filled with my dirty laundry. Instead it was full of men’s clothes. I started looking in thepockets. There was a phone number on a piece of paper. I called it. We met to exchange bags, and that is when I met my husband.

It all started when I picked up the wrong suitcase at the airport. Panic, when I saw identical suitcases on the luggage carrousel. Both had a solid pattern around and down the handled portion, with plaid front and back. Even the initials on both were M.J.W. I set them on the carpet, guessed, grabbed one, turned…
“Hey! That’s my bag…Mister!”
“Sorry, ma’am, I’m colorblind.”

By Rebeca Valladares

It all started when I picked up the wrong suitcase at the Airport. I do apologize for that. This was our first family vacation, and I was a nervous wreck.
Thankfully my boyfriend and kids had their suitcases, but it looks like I’ll be doing some shopping to replace the things that were lost.

Our friends Daniel and Nicole are truly excited that we’ll be visiting with them. Haven’t seen them in over five years.

It all started when I picked up the wrong suitcase at the airport. I swung it off the luggage carousel and extended the handle.
“Excuse me, but I think you have my bag,” said a voice. I flicked my gaze from my phone screen to the speaker and met the most beautiful dark eyes.
Ruby and I exchanged bags and contact information that day and a year later, got married.
